Security Information
Privacy Protection
For security reasons, PostLoudly does not confirm whether an email address exists in our system. If an account is registered with the email address you provide, password reset instructions will be sent. If no account exists, you'll still see the same confirmation message to prevent email enumeration.
This means:
- You'll always see a confirmation message, regardless of whether the email exists
- If the email is registered, you'll receive reset instructions
- If the email is not registered, you won't receive an email, but you'll still see the confirmation
- This protects user privacy and prevents malicious users from discovering registered email addresses
Troubleshooting
Email Not Received
If you don't receive the password reset email:
- Check your spam or junk mail folder
- Wait a few minutes—emails can sometimes be delayed
- Verify that you entered the correct email address
- Make sure you've completed the account creation process
- Try requesting the reset again
- Contact support if you continue to have issues
Reset Link Expired
Password reset links are valid for a limited time for security reasons. If your link has expired, simply request a new password reset from the forgot password page.
Can't Remember Your Email
If you can't remember which email address you used for your account, try the email addresses you commonly use. If you still can't access your account, contact support for assistance.
Creating a Strong Password
When creating your new password, follow these best practices:
- Use at least 8 characters (longer is better)
- Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- Add numbers and special characters
- Avoid using personal information (name, birthday, etc.)
- Don't reuse passwords from other accounts
- Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords
