Scheduling Posts

Learn how to schedule your social media posts for future publication.

Overview

Scheduling posts allows you to plan your content calendar in advance. You can create a post and set it to be published at a specific date and time in the future. Scheduled posts appear in your calendar view and can be managed from there.

How to Schedule a Post

Step 1: Create Your Post

Start by creating a new post as you normally would. Select a template, fill in your content fields, and select the platforms you want to publish to.

Step 2: Click "Schedule" Button

In the preview sidebar on the right, click the "Schedule" button. This will open a modal dialog where you can set the date and time for your post.

Step 3: Select Date and Time

In the schedule modal:

  • Choose a date in the future (you cannot schedule posts for past dates)
  • Select a specific time for publication
  • Click "Schedule" to confirm

Your post will be saved with a "scheduled" status and will appear in your calendar view.

Viewing Scheduled Posts

You can view all your scheduled posts in several ways:

  • Calendar View: Go to "Calendar" in the dashboard to see all scheduled posts in a monthly calendar format. Posts are displayed on their scheduled date with the time shown.
  • All Posts Page: Filter by "Scheduled" status to see all scheduled posts in a list view.
  • Today's Posts: The calendar sidebar shows all posts scheduled for today.

Important Notes

Trial App Limitation

Currently, PostLoudly is a trial application. Scheduled posts are saved and displayed in your calendar, but they are not automatically published at the scheduled time. You'll need to manually publish scheduled posts when you're ready.

  • Scheduled posts must be set for a future date and time
  • You can schedule posts weeks or months in advance
  • Scheduled posts can be viewed and managed from the calendar
  • You can edit scheduled posts if they haven't been published yet

Best Practices for Scheduling

  • Plan your content calendar in advance to maintain consistency
  • Schedule posts for optimal engagement times (varies by platform)
  • Use the calendar view to visualize your posting schedule
  • Review scheduled posts regularly to ensure they're still relevant
  • Balance scheduled content with timely, reactive posts
